| 1h | 1 Handed Sword. |
| Aggro | Term used to define the attention of a mob. |
| autored | Term used to describe faction wars, automatic pvp. Read about it here. |
| CS | Cash Shop, or Bazaar, the store for obtaining items with real life money |
| Prem | Premium, a status that comes with certain Cash Shop puchases |
| AoE | AoE is short-hand for "Area of Effect". It usually refers to a spell or power that targets an area as opposed to a single enemy. |
| AFK | Away From Keyboard |
| Brb | Be Right Back |
| Beast | Term used to denote a particularly stronger player |
| AM | Ambassador, former prefix for the Game Masters of Sword of the new world. Note: They are the only ones able to use "AM" at the start of their name. |
| G1 | GamersFirst, the company that runs this game; also can refer to the GamersFirst website, or Game Masters. (Game Masters used to be called AM-[Name] but now they are called G1-[Name]) |
| GS | Great Sword or Two-handed Sword |
| B> | Buying... |
| AR | Attack Rating or attack level. This is an attribute which shows the efficiency of your attacks. The higher your AR the more likely you are able to damage monsters or players with strong armor. |
| DPS | Damage per second = the attack speed * damage of a character |
| DH / DHR | Dragon Heart, a rare item needed to complete high end recipes. DHR means Dragon Heart Recipe, as the Dragon Heart itself must be crafted. |
| Cath | Catherine, a UPC that is annoyingly hard to get without buying all the required body parts |
| CW | Clan Wars |
| DR | Defense Rating or defense level. This is an attribute which shows the efficiency of your defense. The higher your DR the less likely you are to be damaged. |

| EB | Enchant Booster |
| EDC | Elite Dragon Coat. 92e armor for the Musketeer. |
| EMS | Elite Metallic Suit. 92e metal armor for Fighters. |
| EBF | Elite Bone Frame. 92e leather armor for Fighters. |
| ERS | Elite Rescue Suit. 92e armor for Scouts. |
| EPJ | Elite Pandera Jacket. 92e armor for Wizards. |
| ELV | Elite La Ventisca. 92e armor for Elementalists. |
| Ele | Elementalist |
| Exp | Expert |
| FC | Firecracker or to use a Firecracker to check who gets the highest number, and subsequently, the boss or the item. |
| FTW! | For the WIN! or For the World! |
| FFA | Method of distributing loot where whoever picks the item up from the ground gets it. |
| Gg/gb | Good game (or good going)/good battle. It's always good to finish a battle saying "gg" or "gb" even if you lose. |
| Grinding | Killing monsters for a long time in the same place to level up faster or to gain items. Frankly the whole game is a grind. |
| Healer | In this game, the Scout, Soho, Emilia or Viki. |
| Ks | Kill Stealing = When someone steals your spot/mob/place. |
| Lol | Laughing out loud |
| LB | Le Blanc, high end armor. Usually compounded with a class, such as LN Sco, or Le Blanc for Scouts. |
| LN | Le Noir, high end armor. Usually compounded with a class, such as LN Wiz, or Le Noir for Wizards. |
| LR | Le Rouge, high end armor. Usually compounded with a class, such as LR Ele, or Le Noir for Elementalists. These are the exact same things as Le Noir (LN.) |
| Mob | Used to call a monster |
| MM | The Market Manager. |
| ML | Master Loot. A method of distributing loot where the player dealing the most damage tags the most drops/items. |
| Nerf/un-nerf | A "nerf" happens when a specific stat or feature of a character gets removed or lowered. the "un-nerf" happens when a nerf gets removed. |
| Noob/n00b/nub | Basically an annoying newbie (a player new to the game). |
| Npc | Non player characters. These are the ones you can't control. |
| OCP | Old Chess Piece, crafting material for high end weapons. |
| Pk/PK | Player kill, or player killer. Stands for the person that kills another player. |
| PvE | Player versus environment, is a fancy word for doing quests, or leveling up in the game world. |
| PvP | Player versus player, usually ends in PK. |
| RL | Real life, so when someone asks you where are you from in rl, he means where do you live in real life. |
| Rez | To cast Resurrect or to bring a character capable of casting the named skill, such as Romina |
| Rofl | Rolling On Floor Laughing |
| RR | Round Robin. A method of distributing loot where player A gets the first drop picked up, player B gets the 2nd, player C gets the 3rd, until all the members of the squad have received an item, after which the order loops. |
| S> | Selling... (same as WTS) |
| SS | Snail Shell. Crafting material for high end weapons. Alternatively, Screen Shot. |
| DH/DHr | Dragon Heart and Dragon Heart Recipe. It is one of the most important (and expensive,) |
| PC> | Price Check (player wants to know the Market Price of an item) |
| PO | Pure Otite |
| Stfu | Shut the F*** up. |
| Tank | The character that takes damage to protect others, usually the one that has more HP and defense. |
| T> | Trading (same as WTT) |
| UD | Undead, a monster subtype. |
| Upc | Unique player characters. These are the characters you get for completing quests. |
| Vet | Veteran |
| Wiz | Wizard |
| WB | Wild Beast, a monster subtype. Also used for Welcome Back. |
| WTB | Want to buy. |
| WTS | Want to sell. |
| WTT | Want to trade. |
| Letter/Number or Coords | Usually they refer to the coordinates of the maps; look at your area map and find the Letter and Number (example; A1, A5, C8, etc). |
| Musk | Musketeer |
| Fig | Fighter |
| MP | Mysterious Powder |
| MSP | Mysterious Steel Piece |
| UA's | Upgrade Accelerators |
| Farm | To kill in a certain area for a prolonged period to collect items for crafting or to sell |
| SC | Soul Crystal |
| Merc | Mercenary Warrant, a Cash Shop item that allows people to trade or sell their characters. The Merc Warrant turns a family's character into a tradeable card; this must be done by the family that owns the character in the first place. Mercs are expensive, so sometimes character sellers require the buyer to supply the Merc. |
| relog | Logging off and on again, or going to Quarters and coming back into the game world. |
| WoD | Wheel of Destiny, an item available via Cash Shop or a Baron quest |
| Baron | The status you get when you kill another player in a non PvP zone |
| Penetration | Penetration - Ignores X amount of your enemies’ DEF, RES, Block and Evasion depending on the value. |
| Absorb | Short for Absorption - Gain X amount of absorption of the enemies’ Penetration depending on the value. |
| AtP | Adelina the Pirate, a promo UPC. |
| StF | Soho the Fighter, a promo UPC. |
| BSI | Battlesmith Idge, a promo UPC. |
| ICP or PTIC | Iron Chef Panfilo, a promo UPC. Also called as Panfilo the Iron Chef |
| ETS | Emilia the Sage, a promo UPC. |
