Terminology

MMO's in general have a set terminology, or words that are used exclusively in MMO's. To newcomers of the genre, the terminology can be daunting to get around. This page will list and explain common terms in MMORPG's as well as terms specific to Sword of the New World.
TermDefinition
AggroTerm used to define the attention of a mob.
AoEAoE is short-hand for "Area of Effect". It usually refers to a spell or power that targets an area as opposed to a single enemy.
AFKAway From Keyboard
ARAttack rating or attack level. This is an attribute which shows the efficiency of your attacks.
AMAmbassador, the Game Masters of Sword of the new world.
Note: They are the only ones able to use "AM" at the start of their name.

BrbBe Right Back
DPSDamage per second = the attack speed * damage of a character
CathCatherine, a UPC that is annoyingly hard to get without buying all the required body parts
DRDefense rating or defense level. This is an attribute which shows the efficiency of your defense.
EaEach
EleElementalist
FTW!For the WIN! or For the World!
Gg/gbGood game (or good going)/good battle. It's always good to finish a battle saying "gg" or "gb" even if you lose.
GrindingKilling monsters for a long time in the same place to level up faster or to gain items.
HealerIn this game, the scout.
KsKill Stealing = When someone steals your spot/mob/place.
LolLaughing out loud
MobUsed to call a monster
Nerf/un-nerfA "nerf" happens when a specific stat or feature of a character gets removed or lowered. the "un-nerf" happens when a nerf gets removed.
Noob/n00bBasically an annoying newbie (a player new to the game).
NpcNon player characters. These are the ones you can't control.
PkPlayer kill, or player killer. Stands for the person that kills another player.
PvEPlayer versus environment, is a fancy word for doing quests, or leveling up in the game world.
PvPPlayer versus player, usually ends in PK.
RLReal life, so when someone asks you where are you from in rl, he means where do you live in real life.
RoflRolling On Floor Laughing

StfuShut the F*** up.
TankThe character that takes damage to protect others, usually the one that has more HP and defense.
T>Trading
UpcUnique player characters. These are the characters you get for completing quests.
VetVeteran
WizWizard
WTBWant to buy.
WTSWant to sell.
WTTWant to trade.
Letter/Number
or Coords
Usually they refer to the coordinates of the maps; look at your area map and find the Letter and Number (example; A1, A5, C8, etc).

Musketeer
Fig
Fighter
MP's
Mysterious Powder
AA
Ancient Area (Cash Shop area with high spawn rate)
FA
Forgotten Area Cash Shop area with high spawn rate)
Farm
to kill in a certain area to collect items for sell to make money
PY
Poison Yard (PvP area)
EAEach; When buying something in surplus, the price is ___ ea.
LoD
Land of the Dead (Baron area)
Baron
The status you get when you kill another player in a non PvP zone
Penetration
Penetration - Ignores X amount of your enemies’ DEF, RES, Block and Evasion depending on the value.
Absorb
Short for Absorption - Gain X amount of absorption of the enemies’ Penetration depending on the value.

as i understand noob is not a new player.. rookie is a new player.. noobs are those who have played the game for some time or a long time and still dont understand much of anything. basically a dummy :)

Its actually calculated (Min Dmg + Max DMG)/2 * Time between attacks... but in this game the min and max dmg is pretty much the same and theres nothing telling whats the time between you attacks...
