Stances have inherit bonuses (bonuses that are automatically provided as the stance levels up). An example is: A stance that starts out at Lv.1 may have +1% Critical, +1% Block. And a Lv.25 (max level) stance may have +20% Critical, +25% Block.
There are currently 3 types of Stance manuals. Normal (Stances Lv.1-100), Veteran (Stances only usable by Veteran and above characters), and Expert (Stances only usable by Expert and above). The Normal stance manuals can be purchased from any Master NPC (except some special UPC-only stance manuals that are only gained by completing a special quest). The Master NPCs are located in Reboldeaux, Port of Coimbra, and City of Auch at these locations:

1. Reboldeaux Master's Row is located at G5 of Reboldeaux
   
2. Coimbra Master's Row is located at G2 of Port of Coimbra
3. Auch Master's Row is located at D6 of City of Auch

The Master NPCs also sell some Veteran stance books; however, instead of costing Vis, they are purchased using a Rare Book of (Combat/Magic/Shooting), depending on the type of manual you are purchasing, along with either 50 Mega Ioniums, 50 Mega Aidaniums, or 50 Etretanium. There is also another NPC (Researching Scholar) in Bahamar, New Opoluto, that sells Veteran Stance Books. Those can be purchased using Explorer Team Memo's/ Explorer Team Storage Box's + Shiny Crystals or Mysterious Powder. And then there's also Expert Stances, which are acquired by first completing the necessary Errac Questline, and then by talking to Emilia (In Port of Coimbra) and trading Constellation Symbols and 6 Great Stones for a stance.
