Comments:
M'Boma is the magic item sellers of Coimbra. His origins are pretty different from other colonists. He has mastered both psychic wizardry and elemental magics, and has great resistance.
How to get:
"Filler" quest parts:
Required level - 44
- Talk to M'Boma (Port Coimbra) at level 44.
- He'll want food, talk to Panfilo in Cite.
- He'll send you to get octopus crap. Go to Porto Bello (outside) and AFK for 20 minutes. You'll have what you need and won't take a lick of damage.
- Go back to Panfilo, he'll give you the crappy dish.
- Go back to M'Boma, give him the dish.
- Talk to M'Boma again, just like anyone in the New World, he likes to top off a good meal with a good fight.
The Fight
Skills Used (By M'Boma)
- Attack (Frequent) - 1,000+ damage, single target.
- Reverse (Frequent) - Levitates your party, makes you immune to pretty much everything but you cannot move or act.
- Photon Splash (Infrequent) - Group attack, hits you with some rapid-fire photon balls. If you're low on health, this can spell doom.
- Hole of Darkness (Very rarely) - Does a little bit of damage, knocks you down and has a chance to fear/stun your entire party. Fairly nasty if your whole team is caught.
Perhaps this would've been easier had I used a fighter, I dunno. My team was Ele-Musk-Scout. I did it at level 44. I hope your birdfall skill is leveled. You'll need it.
Part 1 - Lasts about 15 seconds or so. Your camera is facing the wrong way because apparently that's a cool way to start a fight, turn around and run to M'Boma, he's the crazy Wizard floating in the air hitting your team for 1,000+ damage per shot, but only on one target, hurry up and get in patrol mode so you can survive. Try to spread your team out. Once in patrol mode go into individual mode and quickly make your team form a semi-circle. You're about to see why.
Part 2 - For some reason, Claude, the husky Swordsmith who resides in Cite De Reboldoeux decides to run out Rambo-style out of nowhere declaring if there's a fight, he has to be in it. Apparently his trips to Port Coimbra are spent meddling in other people's business and generally beating the crap out of people. He uses a Great Sword and hits for about 650 on your entire team, this is why you want to be spread out. IGNORE HIM COMPLETELY UNLESS YOU CAN IMMOBILIZE HIM.
Part 3 - The takedown. Nothing matters here but spamming Birdfall on M'Boma. It'll hit him for big damage, cast quickly and uses relatively low SP. I didn't need to use any pots, but take some anyway in case you happen to miss. It'll knock him back and do about 2500-3000 damage, or more depending on your weapon. 3-4 shots along with your regular attacks should take him out. As long as your Musketeer stays alive, this should be over quickly. Don't bother with headshot or any other shot, as nothing is quite as efficient on a flying target.
