Ferrucio Forges look like this:

They are found in many different areas but only on Channel 1. Each one requires a certain amount of a mineral in exchange for a certain item(s). The amount and type of mineral required differs from area to area. There must be thirty minutes between each use of a forge.

Now for the part that the game doesn't tell you. When putting in minerals, the game will say something like "pick one of the following" or something like that and list three items. You CANNOT pick the item you get. However, you can know exactly what item you're getting before. The item at the top of the list is the item you will get. It is NOT randomly selected from the three items. Therefore, if the top item is something like 30 Megaphones or something, you probably won't want to waste minerals (wait for someone who hasn't read this guide to put it in =p). However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't take a look at the list of items. If the second or third item is something you want (probably a ring), come back in a bit and put in the mineral to reap the benefits.

Ferruccio Forges can be very good sources of money. I like to train at El Lago, right next to the forge and stock up on refined quartz. I just check back every once in a while to see if I can get a ring out of the thing.
